Easter weekend is the perfect time to focus on our own resurrection. All our readers have made terrible, terrible mistakes along their journey, and if they haven’t, they are likely to have a big one coming. Please always learn from my monstrous mistakes.

You’ve all heard my obnoxious comment when our clients ask how I know all those answers, I always reply, “because no human has made more mistakes in business and life than I have the last 59 years.” We must take a breath this weekend and focus on overcoming our guilt, shame, losses, and especially the things we haven’t even attempted because we are living our lives in fear.

As the prosecutors for the U.S. District Court constantly told the honorable federal judge, “Martinovich is implementing a scorched earth, take no prisoners strategy, and he has no remorse!” This was always the government’s response when there were no facts to support their case. Yet, if defending yourself, your company, and your employees is termed scorched earth, I take great pride in the label.

As I sat on a metal bunk with 4,000 mostly gang members, and once the shock subsided and survival instincts kicked in, I decided, “If I curl up here for 14 years, not only do I waste my own life, I devastate all the people I could help if I put my fear, shame, and regret aside and attacked life once again, just like many of us leaders were always taught.

The world will repeatedly say you have no shame because most of them lead lives of mediocrity and envy, so turn off your hearing aids and crush it one more time. Not only will it save your life, but it will also save your family, your friends, your business associates, and pretty much everyone who comes into connection with you forward.

You didn’t come down to the planet this time around to make one colossal mistake and then give up. Americans love comebacks. I can’t tell you how many people email me or call me every week to talk about my story and how it relates to their life. I am constantly emotional learning about their challenging lives. Ashleigh will say, “Yep, he’s crying again!”

Take this beautiful resurrection weekend, to draw a line in the sand for yourself. Shock everyone else with your strength, positiveness, and BHAG new goals. As hard as it is, disregard the haters! Call me if I can help!
